Job summary

YOUNG MENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF METROPOLITAN HUNTSVILLE seeks a Youth & Family Services staff member to supervise groups of children, plan developmentally appropriate activities, assist with homework, and maintain safety and cleanliness across program spaces.

You will collaborate with colleagues, participate in staff training, and communicate effectively with parents and children while upholding YMCA values and mission.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Child Abuse Prevention training required prior to supervising children.
• Experience with children ages 4–14 preferred.
• Experience working with diverse populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of children.
• Plan and implement culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with YMCA values.
• Assist participants with schoolwork/homework.
• Adhere to safety standards and maintain clean, organized spaces.
• Work as part of a staff team and communicate with parents, children, and other staff.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and YMCA events; complete daily attendance and check-in/out records.
• Arrive on time in appropriate attire; report incidents and discipline as needed.
• Foster positive relationships and model professional behavior.
