Job summary

John Boner Neighborhood Centers (JBNC) is seeking an Assistant Afterschool Site Coordinator for the EDGE Afterschool Programs in Indianapolis. This part-time role blends hands-on program delivery with leadership responsibilities, supporting the Site Coordinator, staff, and families to create a safe, engaging environment for youth.

You will supervise staff, lead large group activities, handle elevated youth situations with restorative practices, and help plan curriculum and activities while

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff in afterschool or youth program settings.
• Completion of onboarding requirements including CPR certification, CCDF training, and state-sponsored professional development hours.
• Flexibility to work afternoon and early evening hours during out-of-school program times.

Responsibilities

• Supervise program staff and provide leadership in activities and logistics.
• Lead larger group activities and ensure smooth transitions between daily offerings.
• Handle elevated youth situations with restorative practices to guide positive outcomes.
• Manage parent communication as the primary point of contact for questions and updates.
• Step in for the Site Coordinator to oversee site operations and program delivery.
• Collaborate with the Site Coordinator to implement engaging curriculum and activity plans.
• Directly facilitate 50–80% of program time to support students and maintain a safe, fun environment.
