Job summary

Gwinnett County in Georgia is seeking a part-time Building Brains Afterschool Program Leader to assist the afterschool director in planning and implementing daily programs for school-aged children. You will help staff design activities, monitor health and safety, and supervise students during activities such as arts, sports, and homework time.

This role involves maintaining an orderly environment, assisting with program orientation for parents, and coordinating activity calendars.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience in an organized camp, afterschool, daycare, or similar setting with school-aged children.
• Driver’s license.
• CPR and First Aid certifications within first 90 days of employment.
• Candidates must undergo a comprehensive background check and obtain a satisfactory determination from DECAL.

Responsibilities

• Assist the afterschool director with planning and implementing daily programs and activities.
• Serve as liaison between parents, staff, and school personnel regarding student performance and behavior.
• Monitor students in afterschool activities to maintain order and safety.
• Perform routine First Aid and CPR as needed and enforce health and safety rules.
• Support with orientation for parents and students and coordinate program activity calendars.
• Oversee students in physical activities and assist with equipment and supplies.
