Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking an Afterschool Program Coordinator to build and oversee an engaging afterschool program in partnership with the host school. You will develop curriculum, coordinate activities, and supervise staff, ensuring alignment with state standards and grant requirements.

Responsibilities include forming community partnerships, tracking participation and outcomes, managing budgets, and communicating with parents to support youth development and success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel to Youth Services facilities and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Create the structure of the afterschool program based on state and grant standards.
  • Develop curriculum, activities, clubs, and events aligned with school subjects.
  • Oversee staff, including hiring, orientation, training, and assignments.
  • Maintain regular staff meetings and partnerships with community organizations.
  • Coordinate with host school and attend meetings to align with administration.
  • Monitor program expenditures and participate in purchases as needed.
  • Create recruitment and retention plans and communicate with parents.
