Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a dedicated administrator to manage an afterschool program by developing curriculum, collaborating with the host school, and forming partnerships with community agencies. You will supervise and train program staff to ensure high-quality delivery.

Responsibilities include aligning activities with state standards, recruiting and retaining participants, coordinating with schools, and monitoring budgets and outcomes to improve youth development outcomes across the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of related education and experience accepted.
• Must pass pre-employment background checks as per County policy.
• A valid Utah driver’s license may be required to operate a vehicle.
• Ability to travel to Youth Services facilities.

Responsibilities

• Creates the structure of the afterschool program based on state and grant standards.
• Develops curriculum, activities, clubs, and events that align with core subjects.
• Oversees temporary staff, including hiring, orienting, training, and assigning work.
• Holds regular staff meetings.
• Creates and maintains collaborative partnerships with community organizations.
• Works closely with host school administration; attends faculty and team meetings.
• Coordinates with host school to compile weekly, monthly, and annual statistics and records.
• Monitors assigned programs expenditures and makes adjustments as necessary.
• Recommends and makes needed purchases; creates recruitment and retention plan and parent communications.
