Job summary

Children’s Day School in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Extended Program Staff substitute instructor to supervise students in grades K-8 and support the daily operations of the afterschool program.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 2pm to 6pm, with opportunities to sub in classrooms and participate in on-call camps. This part-time, non-exempt role pays $25.00 to $31.00 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; AA preferred.
• Experience teaching or leading youth activities with strong classroom management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor.
• Ability to take initiative, work passionately and collaborate with colleagues, students and parents.
• Commitment to diversity reflected in the CDS community.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; proficient with email and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in grades K-8 and support Extended Day program operations.
• Work Monday–Friday, 2pm–6pm; potential on-call substitutions and vacation camps.
• Possibly substitute in classrooms as needed; contribute to a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with supervisor, staff, students and families to meet program needs.
