Job summary

National CORE, through its Hope Through Housing Foundation, seeks an Afterschool Program Assistant in Humble, TX to support a safe, supervised afterschool program and act as a positive role model for youth.

The role involves helping plan activities, coordinating with the Program Coordinator, and ensuring a nurturing environment where health, wellness, academics, and career exposure flourish.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience working with children/teens in social services preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Afterschool Program Coordinator in monitoring and supervising students.
• Create engaging activities in health, wellness, character development, and STEM subjects.
• Support calendar development for program activities and events.
• Lead and supervise youth and recognize potential issues.
• Foster a positive, respectful and motivating space for participants.
• Be a positive role model through appropriate dress, speech and attitude.
• Maintain cleanliness and assist with setup/breakdown of activities.
• Support daily snack/meals program including preparation and record-keeping.
