Job summary

Edina Public Schools is seeking a part-time Childcare Assistant for the Early Learning and Family Center. You will supervise students, support preschool teachers, and engage children in early childhood programming to foster a caring, inclusive environment.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM-5:30 PM. Pay range: $17.48 - $24.04 per hour. 9-month position with potential for summer work; benefits include on-the-job training in first aid, CPR, child development, and CPI-related certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, CPI, and DHS certification within six months of employment.

In this role, you'll support and advance Edina Public Schools' mission, vision, and core values by providing program support to Early Learning Center staff, supporting preschool teachers and engaging students in early childhood programming. You'll supervise students, offer guidance, and serve as a role model for appropriate behavior, helping create a caring, inclusive environment where every child feels safe, included, and encouraged to grow.

As part of the Edina Public Schools community - home to more than 8,500 diverse student learners across our early learning center, elementary schools, middle schools, high school, and virtual pathway program - you'll help carry that same spirit of excellence and inclusion into the Early Learning Center, working alongside staff and families to support each child's journey.

Location: Early Learning and Family Center
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM-5:30 PM
Pay Range: $17.48 - $24.04 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Position Type: Part-time, 9-month position with the option to work summer

What You Bring:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), and DHS Certification upon hire or within six months of employment
