Job summary

The YMCA of Southern Nevada seeks licensed teachers to facilitate the 21st Century Power Scholars afterschool program at partner elementary schools. The role runs 2:45pm–6:00pm, Monday–Thursday, delivering literacy and math curricula and collaborating with school staff to ensure student success.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, co-teaching with assistants, and maintaining safety and adherence to abuse risk management guidelines.

Qualifications

• Valid Nevada state teaching certificate.
• 1-2 years of experience facilitating out-of-school-time programming, preferably in underserved communities.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging literacy and math lessons aligned to standards.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and teachers to support students.
• Utilize daily prep period to plan and organize materials.
• Model co-teaching with program assistants and maintain student engagement.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings regularly.
• Uphold abuse risk management policies.
