Job summary

Launch Learning K-8 Math is hiring a part-time afterschool Math Enrichment Instructor (Tutor) to teach at its Manhattan location on the Upper West Side. You will provide top quality math instruction in a semi-private setting with a small student-to-instructor ratio.

The position pays $17 per hour. A flexible schedule to cover weekday afternoons and a full academic year is expected. All curriculum and materials are provided, and you will engage and motivate students while monitoring progress.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of math concepts for grades K through 8th.
• Previous tutoring or similar tutoring experience.
• Flexible schedule and ability to commit to a full academic year.
• Strong desire to teach children.
• Personable, friendly, reliable and communicative.
• Provide top quality math instruction using Launch Learning methods.
• Maintain regular communications with Program Coordinator.
• Center location on Upper West Side; part-time weekday afternoons.
• All curriculum and materials provided; you do NOT need to create lesson plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide top quality math instruction utilizing the Launch Learning methods in a semi-private setting.
• Enthusiastically engage students during instructional sessions.
• Help students gain confidence in their ability to learn and succeed.
• Consistently monitor and assess students' progress.
• Maintain regular communications with Launch Learning K-8 Program Coordinator.
