Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, Inc. seeks an Afterzone Teacher to support tutoring and literacy after school at Jennings Middle School in Seffner, FL.

You will implement the established literacy program and work closely with the VP of Educational Programs and the Educational Programs Coordinator to help members advance reading skills. This part-time, hourly role offers hands-on literacy activities, data-informed instruction, and collaboration with club staff to create a child-centered learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Valid State Teaching certification.
• 3+ years of teaching experience preferred.
• Familiar with reading research, Florida standards, assessments, and data-driven small group instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring, literacy support, and academic enrichment to members.
• Implement literacy program at designated club location.
• Use a technology-based reading program for small group/individual interventions.
• Use data to plan, implement, and evaluate reading instruction.
• Attend required meetings.
• Maintain professional communication with stakeholders.
