Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking an afterschool program assistant to support students with homework, enrichment, and structured play. The role requires availability Mon-Fri, with daily 4-hour shifts from 1pm to 6pm, and involves supervising activities in a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Some college credits (48 Units) required.
• State & federal background checks required.
• Provide contact information for three references, at least one of which must be from a role involving work with children (non-family).
• TB risk assessment or test required.
• Experience in Special Education is a plus.
• Experience with elementary-aged students is a plus.
• Available 5 days a week, Monday to Friday.
• Can commit to daily 4 hour shifts, 1pm–6pm.

Responsibilities

• Support and engage students during afterschool activities, including homework help, enrichment, and structured play.
• Supervise students to ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment both indoors and outdoors.
• Assist staff with daily program routines, transitions, and behavior management while building strong student relationships.
• Sitting, standing, and walking, and able to lift up to 30 lbs while safely assisting students.
• Observe and communicate across varied environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
