LeafSpring Schools is seeking an Afterschool Teacher to create a safe, engaging environment for school-age children after school hours. You will plan hands-on activities, supervise games, support routines, and build positive relationships with families.

The role emphasizes child development principles, teamwork with staff, and adherence to licensing standards. Ideal candidates have experience with afterschool programs and a passion for joyful, inclusive learning.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children in afterschool programs preferred.
• Understanding of child development principles and DAP.
• Friendly, patient and enthusiastic about working with young children.
• Strong communication and teamwork mindset.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to children's needs.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines with creative activities, homework help, snacks and outdoor play.
• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities based on children's interests.
• Supervise and actively participate with children during activities and free play.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized program environment aligned with state licensing.
• Foster independence and positive peer interactions using positive guidance.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a welcoming afterschool environment.
