Little Red School House & Elisabeth Irwin HS in New York's West Village seeks an Afterschool Core Teacher to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children aged 4–12 after school.

You will support daily activities including homework help, art projects, group games, cooking projects, and collaborate with other teachers while communicating with families about daily events.

Qualifications

• College degree with background in education or the arts.
• Experience in an educational program or setting.
• Ability to generate and lead age appropriate group activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and communicate effectively.
• A background in a creative discipline such as art, dance, theater or music is preferred.

Afterschool Core Teacher

This is the Afterschool program of LREI, a historic Progressive Education school located in the West Village. Our priority is to offer a safe, creative, engaging place for children to grow. We foster a non-competitive, welcoming environment for all children who attend. Children are encouraged to make new friends and to participate in fun activities that interest them and provide opportunities to learn new skills.

Description:

• Create and support a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment (children in Afterschool are between 4-12 years old).


• Support daily activities for students including - homework support, art projects, group games, cooking projects, and projects inspired by the interests of the students.


• Communicate with families about daily events and their children.


• Work collaboratively with other teachers.


• Monday-Friday, 2:30-6pm
