Job summary

JCC East Bay in Oakland, CA is hiring a Kids’ Club Afterschool Assistant Teacher to support TK through 5th grade, 1:00pm–6:00pm (Wed 12:00pm–6:00pm). You will plan and run developmentally appropriate activities aligned with our program philosophy.

You must have 2+ years of childcare experience, an associate degree or higher, or 48 college units, and the ability to manage a classroom and communicate with families. This part-time role offers benefits and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of childcare or equivalent experience in TK or Elementary preferred.
• Associates or BA in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Must have Associate’s Degree or Higher, or 48 Semester College units; AND must pass Alameda County Paraprofessional Proficiency Test within six months.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans and activities for TK–5 students.
• Provide safe, structured supervision and behavior guidance.
• Lead age-appropriate activities and manage classroom operations.
• Communicate with families and staff about student progress and needs.
