Job summary

New York Junior Tennis & Learning seeks an Activity Specialist to lead after-school activities in a DYCD-funded program. The role focuses on engaging youth through project-based experiences, promoting creativity, teamwork, and positive development.

Shifts run 2:00 PM–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with up to 20 hours per week. Selected candidates commit to the full school year from September 2026 through June 2027.

Qualifications

• Available during after-school hours, 2:00pm - 6:00pm, 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday during the school year and some holidays.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in the specialty area (arts, STEM, sports, etc.).
• 2+ years' experience working with children or youth in group settings.

Responsibilities

• Attend all meetings, trainings, and events as required, including outside program hours.
• Design and implement project-based activities aligned with program goals.
• Engage youth, supervise sessions, and support positive youth development.
• Collaborate with site leadership to coordinate schedules and needs.
• Share progress and recommendations for program improvement with supervisors.
