Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Full Time - Afternoons in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will serve and safeguard clients across manufacturing and industrial environments, managing access points and verifying credentials.

You will maintain records, respond to alarms, conduct patrols, and help create a safe, welcoming workplace. Minimum requirements include HS diploma, background check, and ability to work 18+ or 21+ for armed roles.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, deliveries, and contractors entering or leaving the industrial location.
• Maintain visitor, contractor, vehicle, and delivery records; issue and recover access credentials in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-control alarms, unauthorized-entry concerns, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, operational areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
