Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time - Afternoons in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will protect client sites by managing access points, verifying credentials, patrolling areas, and delivering professional customer service to employees and visitors.

Position type is Full Time with a pay rate of $26.00 per hour. Candidates must meet minimum age and education requirements, and will undergo background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as a condition of employment.
• Drug screening as permitted by law and licensing requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors via access-control procedures.
• Monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor/contractor entry, and maintain access records.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly, following escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular patrols of entrances, exteriors, and perimeters to deter unauthorized access.
• Communicate incidents and security observations to site personnel and leadership.
