Job summary

Dublin City Schools Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a part-time Crossing Guard (0.5 FTE, PM Only) for Scottish Corners ES.

The position provides a safe designated walking area for students to cross streets to and from school, reporting to the Building Administrator in the Academics & Student Learning department. A high school diploma or equivalent and courteous communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or training and experience considered equivalent.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous manner.
• Neat appearance.
• Ability to carry out assigned duties and make decisions on own.

Responsibilities

• Directs students and traffic at the assigned intersection before and after school.
• Assists school staff with supervision of student crossing guards.
• Reports unusual conditions or hazards to the building principal.
• Demonstrates correct procedures for crossing streets to students.
• Ensures the safety of students.
• Maintains cooperative professional relationships.
• Adheres to district policies and legal requirements.
