Job summary

City of Euclid is seeking a part-time School Crossing Guard for the school year to direct traffic at designated crossings and ensure the safety of students walking to and from school.

The role reports to the Police Department and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and basic knowledge of traffic regulations. Training and uniforms are provided, with shifts in the morning and afternoon.

Qualifications

• Must understand basic traffic regulations and school crossing safety.
• Must be willing to work with and a liking for children.
• Ability to provide clear oral and written instructions to the public.

Responsibilities

• Direct traffic at designated crossings to allow children to cross safely.
• Instruct children in basic safety procedures for crossing streets.
• Report motorists and pedestrians who do not follow safety rules.
• Greet the public, provide information as needed regarding duties.
• Remain visible and calm in emergencies.
• Able to drive to different locations to fill in for regular guards.
• Perform other duties as required.
