Job summary

Knoxville Montessori School is seeking caring Extended Day Support Staff for the 2026–2027 school year. Location: Knoxville, TN. Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 2:00 PM–6:00 PM. Compensation: $14.25–$18.25 per hour, based on education, experience, and qualifications.

The role involves supervising students, facilitating activities, and supporting transitions from the school day to afternoon care. Teamwork and positive relationships are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, active supervision of children during the Extended Day Program.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all students.
• Support children's social-emotional development through respectful guidance and positive behavior support.
• Assist younger children with toileting, diapering, handwashing, snacks, and other daily care routines as needed.
• Encourage older children to practice responsibility, independence, and respectful communication.
• Prepare and maintain clean, organized classrooms and activity spaces.
• Work collaboratively with Extended Day colleagues, classroom teachers, and school administrators.
