Job summary

Pilgrim’s is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the afternoons shift to monitor, adjust, and repair equipment across the department. The role emphasizes safety, standard welding practices, and preventive maintenance with a focus on efficiency and reliability.

You will document actions and support continuous improvement efforts. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to read simple instructions.

Responsibilities

• Monitors equipment for proper operation and makes necessary adjustments and repairs to maximize the efficiency of the equipment.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate those to supervisor and/or lead person.
• Identify and apply standard symbols used in industrial documentation.
• Conducts scheduled preventative maintenance and troubleshoot bearing failures.
• Diagnose and repair drive-related issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Assist maintenance department in troubleshooting, repair, modification and construction of equipment and structure as needed including initiating work orders.
• Analyse and troubleshoot electrical circuits using Ohm's Law and Kirchhoff’s Law.
• Safely use multi-meters and other diagnostic tools
• Execute welding operations following safety and quality standards.
• Interpret welding symbols and apply appropriate techniques for repairs and fabrication.
• Maintains proper records on all equipment.
• Flexibility required as overtime and weekend work occur and may be required.
• Gathers feedback from production team members on a regular basis on how the equipment, workstations, and product flow is functioning.
