Job summary

The Learning Experience - Hudson Yards is seeking a dependable and energetic Part-Time Assistant Teacher to support our classrooms during the afternoon. This role offers a consistent weekday schedule and is ideal for a student or anyone seeking part-time weekday hours.

Youll provide classroom coverage, assist teachers, and help create a positive end-of-day experience for children and families. Training and professional development are provided, with opportunity for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous childcare or experience working with children preferred.
• Comfortable supporting different classrooms and age groups.
• Reliable and consistently available during afternoon hours.
• Positive, energetic, flexible, and team-oriented.
• Must meet applicable New York City childcare requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide afternoon support across early childhood classrooms
• Assist teachers with activities, transitions, and pick-up routines
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, and age-appropriate activities
• Provide classroom and teacher break coverage as needed
• Help maintain required classroom ratios
• Support classroom cleanup and end-of-day routines
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
• Follow applicable New York City childcare licensing requirements
