The Learning Experience - Hudson Yards is seeking a dependable Part-Time Assistant Teacher to support our classrooms during the afternoon and ensure a smooth end to the day for children and families. This role offers a consistent weekday afternoon schedule and a chance to gain hands-on early childhood education experience.

You'll provide classroom coverage, assist with activities, and help with transitions while maintaining safety and positive guidance for diverse age groups.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous childcare or experience working with children preferred.
• Reliable and consistently available during afternoon hours.
• Must meet applicable New York City childcare requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide afternoon support across early childhood classrooms.
• Assist teachers with activities, transitions, and pick-up routines.
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, and age-appropriate activities.
• Provide classroom and teacher break coverage as needed.
• Help maintain required classroom ratios.
• Support classroom cleanup and end-of-day routines.
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance.
• Follow applicable New York City childcare licensing requirements.
