Job description

What You will Do:
  • Analyze, track, and dispose of nonconforming, returned, or damaged materials, acting as a part of the Material Review Board (MRB)
  • Lead structured problem‑solving (5 Whys, 3‑Legged, 8D) to identify root causes, field failures, or repair issues to prevent recurrences
  • Develop, review, and approve technical repair schemes and work instructions for aerospace parts (structures, castings, raw material, etc.)
  • Analyze defect trends to update maintenance strategies, spare part designs, and standard work instructions
  • Ensure MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) activities comply with AS9100, FAA, and FAR145 requirements, including conducting internal and supplier audits
  • Monitor key quality metrics (PPM, Cost of Poor Quality) to evaluate repair process stability and effectiveness
  • Act as the technical point of contact for customers to resolve quality disputes, investigate complaints, and interface with OEMs regarding repair approvals
What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Automotive with 2-4 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, repair, overhaul, or supplier quality
  • Deep understanding of aircraft systems, GD&T, and specialized repair schemes for large aerospace components
  • Proficiency in FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and Lean Six Sigma
  • Familiarity with FAA repair stations regulations, AS9100D standards, and AS9102C First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Familiarity with QMS software, ERP systems, or SAP
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills to work with technicians, engineers, internal, and external customers
Pay Range:

$70,000-$75,000

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job‑related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements:

This role is considered an on‑site position located in Rockford, IL

  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
  • Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Travel requirements:

Due to the nature of the work, no travel is required.
