Job summary

Elite Hospice of Springdale, part of LHC Group, provides comprehensive hospice care after regular hours, including nights and weekends. The Afterhours Registered Nurse triages needs by phone, evaluates patient eligibility, and conducts afterhours visits to ensure continuous patient care and family support.

The role requires an unrestricted RN license in the practice state, valid driver's license or reliable transport, and may prefer 1+ years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• 1+ years of clinical experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Triages patient needs over the phone for afterhours nursing intervention.
• Responds urgently to crisis calls from patients and families afterhours.
• Performs initial nursing evaluation to determine hospice eligibility within 48 hours of referral.
• Conducts afterhours visits including admissions, death, recertifications, and routine visits.
• Assesses and reassesses patient/family needs and documents interventions and responses.
