Job summary

Salem Montessori School Inc. is hiring a Part-time aftercare assistant for Elementary 1st–8th grades. You will help create a safe, welcoming environment after school and support children with activities, homework, and community-building experiences.

Ideal candidates are 18+, hold a High School Diploma or GED, and have CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to be certified. Hours are Monday–Friday, 2:30 pm–5:30 pm, 15–20 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to certify.
• Experience with children is preferred.
• Ages 18 or older as a minimum requirement.
• Demonstrates dependability and ability to work on a team.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming environment for after-school activities.
• Support elementary students with outdoor play, projects, homework and community-building activities.
• Foster independence, responsibility and respect among students.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain a positive, organized aftercare program.

Your Role as an Aftercare Elementary Assistant

As our Aftercare Elementary Assistant, you will help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children can relax, connect, and continue learning through meaningful activities at the end of the school day. Working as part of our collaborative team, you will support elementary students through outdoor play, creative projects, homework assistance, and community-building experiences while fostering independence, responsibility, and respect. If you enjoy working with children, value teamwork, and are passionate about creating positive experiences that reflect Montessori principles, we would love to welcome you to our community.

Expectations:

Requirements:
