Job summary

Waukegan Park District is seeking a part-time Recreation Specialist for the BASE after-school program. You will supervise youth, plan developmentally appropriate activities, and help implement daily schedules for indoor and outdoor activities.

The role requires driving where needed, a valid license, and certification in First Aid/CPR/AED within one year. Hours are mornings Monday–Friday, 6:45am–9:00am, with potential additional hours.

Qualifications

• Age: 16 years and older.
• Education: Junior in high school or higher grade level; High school diploma preferred; Some college desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership and supervision to BASE programs.
• Provide developmentally appropriate activities for participants.
• Implement activities according to established schedule.
• Assist in developing goals and objectives for the area.
• Assist in evaluating programs and services.
• Attend program activities with participants; accompany field trips.
• Maintain reports and records on participants and programs.
• Attend departmental meetings and trainings.
