Job summary

Hudson Guild is seeking an Assistant Youth Educator to support after-school programs for K–5 students. This role collaborates with site staff to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment that promotes academic growth, social-emotional development, creativity, and physical well-being.

The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, and patient, with a commitment to positive relationships and inclusive programming.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing program needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and facilitate engaging enrichment activities for K-5.
• Assist with age-appropriate lesson plans and educational activities.
• Provide individual or group support based on students' needs.
• Foster positive relationships and model supportive behavior.
• Support homework help, enrichment, arts, STEM, and sports activities.
• Implement classroom and behavior-management strategies to ensure safety and productivity.
• Communicate incidents promptly to the Site Supervisor and staff.
• Help students develop communication, teamwork, and social-emotional skills.
• Participate in indoor/outdoor activities and special events.
• Assist with daily program prep, setup, and cleanup.
• Maintain attendance records and program reports.
• Communicate professionally with students, families, staff, and partners.
• Contribute to an inclusive and welcoming environment.
