Job summary

YMCA Beacons School Success Lead at YMCA of the North is a part-time position based at our Minneapolis Beacons centers. The role focuses on mentoring youth after school, delivering enrichment activities, and promoting the YMCA values within a collaborative team.

The Beacons program offers a free Y membership, growth opportunities, and a supportive environment for youth development across the 8 center network in the Minneapolis area.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and ability to work with school-age youth.
• Experience or education in youth development or related fields.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse populations.
• Commitment to after-school and enrichment programming.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement enrichment activities for youth after school.
• Provide work direction to program staff and volunteers on duty.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and propose improvements.
• Maintain clean and organized classrooms and spaces.
• Handle attendance and other administrative tasks.
• Support outreach and recruitment to families and schools.
