Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro is seeking a Youth Development Professional – Elementary (YDP-E) to run safe, engaging after-school activities for middle school youth at Bay Elementary, San Lorenzo.

You will support academic success and social-emotional growth, mentoring students and coordinating structured programming in a school-site setting during afternoons, with part-time hours aligned to the school calendar.

Qualifications

High school diploma + 48 college semester units (≈2 years)
HS diploma + an Associate’s (or higher) degree
HS diploma + Paraeducator/Paraprofessional Exam passing score

Responsibilities

Engaging supervision: provide a safe, structured, welcoming environment for youth.
Facilitate engaging after-school activities promoting learning, creativity, and social development.
Deliver curriculum-based activities, adapting to student needs and interests.
Create a positive learning environment with clear expectations and routines.
Build positive relationships through mentorship and inclusive practices.
Manage daily program flow, meals, transitions, and lessons.
Collaborate with teammates to improve activities and meet program goals.
Be flexible and support at different sites when needed.
