Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro seeks a Temporary Youth Development Professional - Elementary (YDP-E) to supervise and mentor middle school youth in an after-school setting at Jefferson Elementary. The role emphasizes creating a safe, inclusive environment and delivering engaging activities that support academic and social-emotional growth.

The position is part-time and on-site with hours 1:00-6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, during the school year.

Qualifications

No prior experience required; entry-level role.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
High emotional intelligence and integrity.

Responsibilities

Engaging supervision; create a safe, structured, welcoming environment for youth.
Facilitate engaging after-school activities promoting learning, creativity, and social development.
Adapt and implement lessons; deliver curriculum-based activities for elementary-aged students.
Create a positive learning environment with clear expectations, routines and behavior management.
Build positive relationships; mentor youth and encourage participation.
Manage daily operations; oversee transitions, meals, and lessons for smooth program flow.
Collaborate with team to improve activities and support goals.
Be flexible and support where needed; assist at different sites as required.
