Job summary

Imogen Roche Foundation, Inc. seeks a part-time visual arts teacher to lead engaging after-school workshops for elementary students in New York City. The program covers drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and multi-media.

Hours are 2:30pm to 5:00pm on days NYC public schools are in session. You will implement curriculum with a teaching assistant, plan lessons, supervise students, and contribute to social-emotional learning through creative activities.

Responsibilities

• Implements course curriculum and assists with development.
• Collaborates with teaching assistant to plan lessons per curriculum.
• Requests supplies from Site Supervisor ahead of classes.
• Leads classes with school-age children.
• Supervises children during transitions.
• Supervises teaching assistants.
• Communicates progress to Site Supervisor/Director.
• Plans and oversees culminating events at cycle end.
