Job summary

Catalyst Family Inc. in Rocklin, CA is seeking an After School Instructor to support a group of up to 20 students from TK through 8th grade with daily tutoring, homework help and enrichment activities.

The role requires high energy, strong organization and communication, and the ability to maintain a positive, safe learning environment. Previous child-care experience and completion of district requirements are preferred; roughly 1pm–5pm, Monday through Friday, part-time.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; district requirements may vary by location (passing exam, paraprofessional cert, etc.)
• 6+ months of experience working with children preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old; able to manage classroom of up to 20 TK–8th grade
• Clear verbal and written communication; able to handle sensitive situations with discretion

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring and homework assistance to help students meet national standards
• Collaborate with Site Coordinator to implement ExL curriculum and procedures
• Provide educational enrichment including youth development and life skills
• Work with district staff and teachers
• Track students' progress using programmatic protocol
• Maintain safe environment and complete safety documentation
• Track attendance and ASEs requirements
• Prepare weekly lesson plans
• Maintain professionalism with students and families
• Relay feedback for program improvement
• Attend staff and district meetings
• Support family and site events
• Assist other sites if needed
• Communicate with Site Coordinator about program aspects
• Apply behavior management techniques for positive learning
• Undergo health, safety, and HR trainings
• Participate in professional development
• Prepare classroom setups for mobile classrooms
• Promote DEI in operations
