Qualifications

• At least a Junior or Senior in High School with an outstanding academic report.
• Maintain an 'A' or 'B' average in his/her own academic reports.
• Be able to walk to and from schools (in assisting with school pick-ups).
• Be able to work outdoors for recreational activities.
• Be flexible to assist the Director and/or other staff in any necessary tasks.
• Must understand and appreciate the mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

• Assist other staff members in the pick-up of children from local public schools.
• Review children’s homework assignments and assist them in completing them correctly.
• Keep accurate records of children’s assignments and progress.
• Inform Director of any concerns of the students.
• Provide tutoring to students when necessary.
• Assist and/or organize games, crafts, and other recreational activities.
• Supervise children to and from park, playground, and field trips.
• Maintain proper staff to student ratio at all times.
