Position Overview

Red Door Learning Company is seeking a motivated and compassionate After-School Tutor to support students in our after-school enrichment program. This role is ideal for college students, education majors, graduate students, and professionals who enjoy working with children and helping them succeed academically.

The After-School Tutor will provide homework assistance, reinforce academic skills, and help maintain a structured and encouraging after-school learning environment. Tutors will support students in reading, writing, mathematics, and general study habits while fostering confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide homework help and academic support across subject areas
• Reinforce reading, writing, and math skills through practice and guided instruction
• Work with small groups or individual students
• Support positive behavior, routines, and classroom expectations
• Communicate with program staff about student progress and needs
• Assist with enrichment activities and educational exercises
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

Qualifications

• College student or graduate preferred
• Majors in Education, Psychology, or related fields are a plus
• Prior experience working with children preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Patient, reliable, and supportive demeanor

Schedule

After-School Program Hours: Monday-Friday, approximately 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Part-time position.
