Job summary

Alper JCC Miami is seeking a patient, engaging Tutor to provide academic support to elementary and middle school students in our After-School Care Program. This part-time role emphasizes meaningful homework help, academic reinforcement, and building students' confidence and independence.

The tutor will work after school, Monday–Friday, in a small-group and individual setting, focusing on reading, writing, and math while maintaining a positive, encouraging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Certified teacher, experienced educator, or similar academic background strongly preferred.
• Experience tutoring or working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred.
• Strong knowledge of reading, writing, and math fundamentals.
• Ability to explain concepts in different ways based on a student’s individual needs.
• Patient, dependable, encouraging, and comfortable working with children.
• Education majors and individuals with significant classroom or tutoring experience are encouraged to apply.
• Must meet all required background screening and program requirements.
