Job summary

SAU 6 Public Schools seeks Title I Grant-Funded Academic Tutors to provide targeted literacy and mathematics support at CMS, DES, and MAES. These grant-funded positions partner with teachers to close academic gaps in accordance with federal guidelines. Tutors will track student progress, implement intervention plans, and maintain records.

A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is preferred; background check is required. Part-time, temporary, school-year role.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, a core subject area, or related field.
• Experience: Previous tutoring in school settings or Title I/high-need environments.
• Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal skills, patience, adaptability, data-driven instruction.
• Compliance: Background check and fingerprinting as required for school personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based tutoring in literacy and mathematics.
• Implement intervention plans aligned with curriculum and Title I guidelines.
• Monitor, record, and evaluate student progress using formative assessments.
• Collaborate with teachers, interventionists, and parents to align support strategies.
• Maintain attendance, progress logs, and compliance documentation.
• Participate in professional development, coaching, and team meetings.
• After School Tutors will provide supplemental instruction at the CBA rate.
