Job summary

The Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s Silver Sage Y Kids program in Boise, Idaho, seeks part-time After School Teachers to join a team that supports child development and families’ diverse needs and interests.

This position offers 3:30pm-6:00pm, Monday–Friday through the school year, averaging 15 hours per week. Pay is $15.45-$19.31/hour. You’ll foster safety, relationships, and learning through engaging activities and family communication.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Minimum 1 year working with children is preferred.
• Ability to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
• Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills; professional and articulate when dealing with others.

Our Silver Sage Y Kids program at Silver Sage Elementary is seekingAfter School Teachers to join the team! This individual is responsible for creating an environment with a teaching team that promotes each child’s development and supports children and their family’s diverse needs and interest.

At the Y, we believe every child is of promise and deserves the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. The Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s Child Development programs support children in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle school, or high school.

Schedule

This is a part-time position averaging 15 hours per week through the school year. Schedule requirements are 3:30pm-6:00pm, Monday through Friday, through the school year. Pay is $15.45-$19.31/hour.

• Maintain an indoor and outdoor environment that is well equipped, organized, safe, clean, and welcoming. The environment is created based on the belief that all children learn best through play, positive adult interaction, and hands on open-ended experiences.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.

• Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, andarticulate when dealing with others.

Required Licensure and/or certifications

• Boise City and/or Idaho State Childcare License - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
• Pediatric CPR/AED - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
• First Aid - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
