Job summary

Presidio Knolls School, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic After School Teachers for Elementary and Middle School programs. The role is part-time and non-exempt, reporting to the Auxiliary Program Director, with afterschool hours from dismissal to extended care.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor degree (or progress), 6 months teaching experience, and a passion for progressive education. Mandarin fluency is preferred, with attention to safety and collaboration with the PKS team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or in progress preferred.
• At least 6 months teaching experience desirable.
• Enthusiasm to engage children and families.
• Fluency in Mandarin preferred; strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of Progressive Education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interact with children using positive, supportive, respectful language.
• Design daily activities to encourage inquiry, creativity, and problem solving.
• Maintain supervision for safety in classroom and on campus.
• Support children’s social and emotional growth.
• Participate in monthly team meetings and trainings.
• Complete closing duties and keep attendance records.
• Communicate with Auxiliary team about student needs.
• Assist with transitions and handoffs during dismissal.
• Adhere to Livescan background check requirements.
• Must obtain/maintain US work authorization; no PKS sponsorship required.
