Job summary

Friendly House is seeking an After School Teacher to plan and implement engaging, safe activities for a group of children after school, with supervision from the Director of School Aged Programs. The position is in-person at multiple locations including Chapman Elementary School, with a 1–6pm schedule, five days a week, and occasional days off during school breaks.

The role requires a minimum age of 18, current CPR/First Aid, and a food handler certification plus DELC background registry

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Current first aid and pediatric CPR training completed or obtainable within 30 days of hire.
• Current food handler certification or able to obtain within 30 days.
• Enrollment in DELC’s Central Background Registry or able to obtain upon job offer.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for a group of children.
• Maintain health and safety of children and ensure age-appropriate enrichment.
• Collaborate with staff, follow schedules, and deliver weekly curriculum.
• Communicate with families daily and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and childcare regulations; support the team during activities.
