Job summary

Hometown Health Center is seeking an After School Child Care staff member to provide a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for school-age children. You will plan and lead educational and recreational activities while maintaining open communication with the childcare director and families.

You will work with a co-teacher, participate in bi-monthly staff meetings, and complete all required DHHS trainings to ensure compliance with licensing regulations and center policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Registration with a Maine early childhood professional development network or willingness to become registered.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement engaging activities for school-age children.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment at all times.
• Communicate with the childcare director about questions or concerns.
• Lead group activities independently or with a co-teacher.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings, including safety drills.
