Job summary

Kids R Kids-West McKinney is seeking a cheerful Afterschool Teacher to support our school-age program in McKinney, TX. This part-time role runs 12:30–6:30 with potential for additional hours when school is out, offering a friendly, collaborative classroom atmosphere and a chance to impact children's daily routines.

You will supervise activities, help with meals and homework, reinforce safety, and communicate with families.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or related fields.
• Passionate about working with children.
• Ability to build rapport with children.
• Positive and patient demeanor.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• High School Diploma/Equivalent; CPR/First Aid (upon hire); background check and fingerprints (upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Supervises students during all activities.
• Counsels students on social, academic, or adjustment issues.
• Guides students in planning classroom activities.
• Maintains cleanliness and safe environment of the classroom.
• Assists with meal times, homework, and attendance reports.
• Attends staff meetings and school events.
• Ensures equipment is safe and well-maintained.
• Helps arrange classroom into defined interest areas.
• Keeps family information boards and communicates with parents.
• Follows classroom medication schedules.

We are currently seeking professional and energetic individuals for our Afterschool Program. This position is part time 12:30-6:30 with more hours available when the children are off school . Our Afterschool Teachers are responsible for general classroom management and supervision of students in our school age / summer program. As a Afterschool Teacher, you will help students plan classroom activities, help with mealtimes and clean up, and ensure a safe and clean classroom at all times.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students during all activities
• Counsels students when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise
• Guides students in planning their classroom activities
• Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained
• Helps children with meal times and clean-up
• Helps with homework, student accident reports, and attendance reports
• Attends and participates in staff meetings and school events
• Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properlyHelps arrange the classroom into well-defined interest areas
• Maintains family information board and other classroom bulletin boards
• Communicates appropriate information to parents
• Ensures that classroom medication schedule is followed
