Job summary

Acquire4Hire LLC seeks a dependable Afterschool Teacher to supervise and engage school-age children in a safe, positive, and fun learning environment in the Atlanta area. You will plan age-appropriate activities, assist with homework, monitor behavior, and communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and coworkers while keeping attendance records and a clean classroom.

The role requires meeting state childcare licensing requirements, staying punctual, and working with a team to support

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience working with children in childcare, school, camp, or similar setting preferred.
• Must meet all applicable state childcare licensing requirements.
• Must be able to successfully complete required background checks and fingerprinting.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification as required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Dependable, punctual, patient, and enthusiastic about working with school-age children.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children of different ages and needs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and actively participate in children's activities throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the afterschool program.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, and group projects.
• Assist children with homework and educational activities as needed.
• Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Encourage social development, teamwork, respect, and positive peer interactions.
• Follow all childcare licensing regulations, health and safety guidelines, and center policies.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and follow proper child sign-in and sign-out procedures.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, guardians, and coworkers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and activity areas.
• Assist with snack preparation and ensure proper food safety practices.
• Monitor children's behavior and use positive guidance and redirection techniques.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other required center activities.
• Assist with daily transitions, including school-age transportation or bus arrival procedures, if applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Center Director.
