Job summary

Foundation Communities seeks a Youth Program Assistant to lead after-school and summer activities for youth in Austin. The role emphasizes education-centered programs, including homework help, fitness, reading, and enrichment, with most work performed in-person and some virtual sessions as needed.

You will implement STEM/STEAM activities, such as coding, robotics, and 3D printing, while promoting safety, inclusivity, and documentation of program activities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 2:30-6:15, with additional hours as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Eligible to work in the United States and able to pass a criminal background check with fingerprinting.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (browsing, email, search engines).
• Experience or willingness to use online education tools (Google Classroom, Zoom, ClassDojo).
• Ability to lead activities and supervise/participate in sports.
• Ability to interact with a range of age groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities and oversee education-centered after-school and summer programs.
• Prepare learning environments, lessons, and supplies for in-person and virtual activities.
• Focus on STEM/STEAM, coding, robotics, and 3D printing; provide math support.
• Assist children with homework and academic enrichment.
• Ensure student safety and supervise the group.
• Maintain an inclusive, respectful environment and clear program documentation.
• Keep classrooms and common areas clean and organized.
