Job summary

Lake County School district in Leadville, CO seeks an Out of School Time Special Education Support to promote growth for students with disabilities in grades K–12. You will implement accommodations and behavior plans, reinforce instruction toward IEP goals, and foster a positive, inclusive environment under the SPED Coordinator's guidance.

Position is part-time with after-school hours (3:30–6:00 p.m., Mon-Thu) and full Fridays (8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.). Program runs Aug 17, 2026–Jun 3, 2027.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete all background checks and be authorized to work in the United States.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• Experience in elementary, secondary, or special education preferred.
• Comfort handling medical needs and remaining calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students with special needs in after-school settings.
• Maximize participation time and minimize non-participation activities.
• Follow supervisor instructions and document progress as requested.
• Observe and document student performance toward IEP goals.
• Reinforce learned subjects and behaviors across settings.
• Assist staff in maintaining a positive activity environment.
• Support students during crises using approved de-escalation techniques.
