Job summary

Lake County School District in Leadville, Colorado is hiring for the Out-of-School Time Special Education Support role to assist students with disabilities in grades K–12.

Working under the direction of the BOCES Special Education Coordinator and with Out-of-School-Time staff, you will provide direct student support, implement accommodations and behavior plans, reinforcing instruction aligned with IEP goals to foster an inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Background checks required by District policy.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• Experience in elementary/secondary or special education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students with special needs in out-of-school time settings.
• Maximize participation time and minimize unrelated activities.
• Follow supervisor instructions and complete assigned tasks.
• Observe and document student performance when requested.
• Monitor progress toward goals per IEP or supervisor direction.
• Reinforce instruction across settings and manage classroom environment.
• Provide support during crises using de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain positive language and behavior toward students at all times.
• Adhere to LCSD policies and confidentiality.
