Job summary

Catawba County Schools Quest After School in Newton, NC is hiring a Sign Language Interpreter (DHH Educational Interpreter) to provide one-on-one support for a student in the QUEST after-school program. The interpreter reports to the QUEST Program Coordinator and the Director of QUEST, collaborates with teachers, prepares lesson materials, and tutors the student as needed while following

Qualifications

• AA degree in interpreting or related field.
• EIPA score of at least 3.5.
• Annual 20 hours of professional development for interpreters.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates communication between student and peers/adults.
• Studies lesson content to accurately represent material.
• Tutor students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Provide feedback to teachers upon request.
• Serve as liaison to promote positive relationships within the school.
