Job summary

The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is seeking a YReads! Program Tutor to support kindergarten–fifth-grade readers through curriculum-based literacy activities at Pinellas County Schools in St. Petersburg, FL.

You will assist the program coordinator during YReads! hours, supervise students, and reinforce positive behavior. You should have experience with children in educational settings, a desire to learn literacy intervention, and be at least 16.

Qualifications

• Interest in literacy intervention and teaching basics

Responsibilities

• Assist in student supervision and maintain order during YReads! hours
• Assist students to and from the restroom and help with transitions
• Assist coordinator in picking up and dropping off students
• Ensure mandatory procedures are followed when parents/guardians pick up students
• Maintain required paper work: testing, sign-in/out logs and attendance
