Job summary

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital is seeking a dedicated program supervisor for the YMCA READS initiative in Jacksonville, FL. You will oversee volunteers and mentors, plan literacy activities, and train staff to deliver high-quality youth development services.

Responsibilities include community outreach, event planning, and partnership development to advance program objectives while ensuring compliance with safety and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary education desirable.
• 1-2 years of experience in education, volunteer development, marketing, public relations, problem solving and mentoring.
• Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program specific certifications.
• Ability to develop, train and implement quality developmentally appropriate activities.
• Experience in child care management or school age literacy.
• Experience in volunteer recruitment, training and retention.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all YREADS site volunteers and mentors.
• Plan and implement daily lesson/mentoring activities and support volunteers/mentors.
• Train staff and sub-contractor staff on YREADS program management and literacy.
• Establish relationships with community and corporate partners to promote the program.
• Create and implement volunteer/mentor training for Site Coordinators.
• Organize events to improve volunteer/mentor retention and appreciation.
